Oncology FISH Analysis - ALL FISH Panel
Use
Oncology FISH Analysis - ALL FISH Panel is a Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) test designed to detect common chromosomal abnormalities associated with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) that are of diagnostic and prognostic significance. Abnormalities detectable include LSI CEP4, LSI P16 (CDKN2A), LSI BCR/ABL with ASS, LSI CEP10, LSI MLL (KMT2A), and LSI IGH. The test is crucial in identifying patients with ALL, monitoring treatment response, and detecting prognostic anomalies. Results should be considered alongside clinical and pathological data for accurate diagnosis.
Special Instructions
The test is intended for patients with clinical suspicion of acute lymphocytic leukemia, for prognostic identification in diagnosed patients, and when cytogenetic testing fails. Results play a crucial role in tracking therapy responses. It is essential to follow proper specimen collection guidelines to ensure test accuracy and validity. Limitations
This FISH assay tests for aneuploidy of chromosome 4 and 10, deletion of P16, and rearrangements involving specific loci. Partner chromosomes for rearrangements involving these loci are not identified by this assay. Sensitivity may be influenced by the white blood cell count and sample quality, limiting the capacity to detect low-level abnormalities. Negative results do not exclude the possibility of ALL and should not be the sole basis for diagnosis.
