Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Panel by FISH, Adult
Also known as: FISH A ALL
Use
The Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Panel by FISH is designed for adults with newly diagnosed ALL. It is used to detect recurrent genetic abnormalities through rearrangements, providing information helpful in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment decisions for patients with ALL. FISH testing can identify specific chromosomal changes associated with ALL, potentially guiding therapeutic choices and risk stratification.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Paraffin-embedded specimens and clotted specimens are unacceptable. Stability is limited to 48 hours at ambient or refrigerated temperatures; samples frozen are unacceptable. While FISH can detect certain chromosomal rearrangements, some potential partners for these rearrangements may not be identified, which limits the interpretability of rearrangement results.
