Special Instructions
It is important to store uninoculated InPouch™ TV test kits at room temperature before use. If reflex testing to culture is performed, there will be additional charges or CPT codes applied. Collection involves the use of a cotton swab for obtaining specimens, which are directly inoculated into the culture media, except for urine specimens that require centrifugation first. Follow the given InPouch™ handling instructions to ensure sample integrity.
Limitations
The test is limited by the quality of the specimen obtained and the time elapsed between collection and analysis. Specimens that are received after 48 hours without incubation or are refrigerated are subject to rejection. Additionally, improper transport or expired products may also lead to rejection. The presence of Trichomonas may not be detected if concentrations are below the method's sensitivity or if the organism is not viable at the time of culture.

Collection Instructions
Use a cotton swab to collect specimens. Inoculate specimens directly into the InPouch™ TV, except for urine which is centrifuged and the sediment used for inoculation. Handle the InPouch™ as instructed to avoid leakage and ensure proper inoculation.
Storage Instructions
Maintain specimen at room temperature for up to 48 hours; if held longer than 48 hours, incubation at 37°C is required. Do not refrigerate.
