Use
Anaerobic Actinomycetes are part of the normal flora of the human oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, and female genital tract. These organisms can cause infections in the head and neck, peritoneal cavity, and in association with intrauterine devices. Culture is performed when infection caused by Actinomyces is suspected to isolate and identify the organism under appropriate conditions.
