Antimicrobial Susceptibility, Anaerobic Bacteria, 2 Drug, MIC
Use
Assesses the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of two antimicrobial agents against anaerobic bacterial isolates to guide effective treatment decision-making.
Special Instructions
Pure culture of anaerobic isolate is required; isolate identification and specified two drugs must be indicated on request and specimen labels.
Limitations
Only performed on pure anaerobic bacterial isolates; rejects isolates in thioglycollate broth, aerobic cultures, or frozen isolates (unless preserved <–70 °C in glycerol broth); requires transport in anaerobic environment.
