Use
This immunoassay detects circulating Aspergillus antigen (galactomannan) in serum to aid in the diagnosis of invasive aspergillosis in at-risk patients, such as immunocompromised individuals.
Special Instructions
Serum should be collected in a plastic serum separator tube (SST) and centrifuged to separate from clot; avoid contamination with mold during collection, processing, shipment.
Limitations
This assay has not been cleared or approved by FDA; it is a laboratory-developed test validated under CLIA regulations. It has not been evaluated for use with plasma, urine, or CSF; for BAL specimens, a separate test code is required.
