Cardio IQ® Insulin
Also known as: Insulin, Cardio IQ®, CardioIQ®
Use
Measurement of fasting intact insulin levels for characterization of metabolic risk—especially to detect hyperinsulinemia, metabolic syndrome, and insulin resistance as early indicators of cardiovascular disease and metabolic dysfunction. Useful even when glucose and HbA1c are normal, providing insight into early metabolic dysregulation.
Special Instructions
Fasting required (typically 9–12 hours). The sample is a blood draw that yields serum. Analysis is performed using LC‑MS/MS (Quest internal references) or immunoassay depending on source. Limitations: delays may occur based on weather, holidays, or lab backlog.
Limitations
Turnaround may take longer based on external factors such as weather, holidays, or lab delays. Fasting is required prior to collection.
