Cardio IQ® Triglycerides

Use
Cardio IQ® Triglycerides is a component of the Advanced Lipid Panel by Quest Diagnostics, used to assess cardiovascular risk. Elevated triglycerides are a known risk factor for cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome, and may indicate the need for lifestyle interventions or pharmacotherapy such as fibrates, niacin, statins, or fish oil.
Special Instructions
Part of multiple Cardio IQ® panels, including the Advanced Lipid Panel; may trigger reflex testing (Direct LDL) if triglyceride levels exceed 400 mg/dL, incurring additional charge.
Limitations
If the triglyceride concentration is above 400 mg/dL, direct LDL cholesterol is reflex-performed, which may affect panel comparability. CPT coding may vary by location and is the responsibility of the billing party.
