FISH, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (Eosinophilia)
Use
This FISH test evaluates rearrangements in PDGFRA (4q12), PDGFRB (5q33.1), and FGFR1 (8p11‑12), which are associated with myeloproliferative neoplasms presenting with eosinophilia, including hypereosinophilic syndrome. These rearrangements result in activation of tyrosine kinases and are critical to identify in patients with prominent eosinophilia for diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making. Special Instructions
Clinical history and reason for referral, including prior therapy and transplant history, are required with the test order. Specimens must be sent to testing lab for viability determination. Do not freeze; do not reject if viability decreases in transit. ([jdos.nicholsinstitute.com](https://jdos.nicholsinstitute.com/dos/chantilly/test/621351?utm_source=openai))
