P40 IHC, Tech Only
Use
p40 is an immunohistochemical stain recognizing the deltaNp63 isoform of p63, aiding in the diagnosis and classification of squamous cell carcinomas and carcinoma/lymphoma pathology. This particular test includes only the technical performance of the stain and does not include pathologist interpretation.
Special Instructions
This test includes only technical performance of the stain (no pathologist interpretation). If diagnostic consultation is required, PATHC / Pathology Consultation should be ordered. Specimens must be submitted in the Immunostain Technical Only Envelope (T693), with the green 'Attention Pathology' label (T498) and the pink Immunostain Technical Only label attached to transport container.
Limitations
Age of cut paraffin sections may affect immunoreactivity; best practice is to cut sections within six weeks. Charge of glass slides may be affected by environmental factors; storage of positively charged slides should minimize time after unpackaging, exposure to high humidity/heat, and contact with plastics.
