Stemphylium botryosum (m10) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This test measures specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies directed against the mold Stemphylium botryosum (m10). Detection of elevated IgE levels to this allergen can indicate sensitization, suggesting the patient may be at risk for allergic reactions upon exposure. The test thus aids clinicians in identifying mold-related allergic sensitization and guiding appropriate allergy management strategies, but clinical correlation with patient symptoms and evaluation remains essential.
Special Instructions
No test preparation required.
Limitations
A positive result indicates sensitization, which does not necessarily correlate with clinical allergy or symptoms. Results must be interpreted in the context of the patient’s history and other diagnostic findings. Not a standalone diagnostic; clinical evaluation remains necessary.
