Connective Tissue Disease First Line Panel with Reflex

Use
This test serves as a first-line evaluation for connective tissue diseases, including mixed connective tissue disease, Sjögren syndrome, and systemic lupus erythematosus, among others. It aids in diagnosing these conditions by detecting specific autoantibodies associated with connective tissue diseases.
Special Instructions
It is important to separate serum from cells as soon as possible or within two hours of collection. Transfer 1 mL of serum to an ARUP standard transport tube, keeping it refrigerated. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Limitations
This test may show false positives or negatives under certain conditions. Analytical limitations include interference from fibrin clots or grossly hemolyzed samples. Clinical correlation is recommended if results are borderline or if other symptoms suggest undetected antibodies. Negative results do not necessarily rule out the disease, especially if clinical suspicion persists.
