If MALDI-TOF based identification has not been performed, test code 183402 should be ordered.
Special Instructions
The test requires an assessment to determine the type of organism and may initiate a cascade reflex to the proper sequence primers. If additional reflex testing is performed, it may incur extra charges or CPT codes. The submitting laboratory must provide LabCorp with clinical and testing information regarding procedures already performed to expedite testing.
Limitations
The test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp and has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. It may require additional time for confirmatory or reflex tests, and testing schedules can vary.

Maintain media at room temperature. Ensure that plated media has been securely sealed with parafilm.
