Use
This test serves as a screening tool for autoantibodies associated with paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes (PNS), which may precede a cancer diagnosis. A positive or suspicious tissue immunofluorescence (TIF) result triggers reflex testing by titer and line blot to clarify antibody specificity and clinical relevance. It is useful in evaluating neurologic symptoms not explained by more common causes and may prompt earlier cancer screening and diagnosis.
