Use
Prostaglandin D2 (PG D2) testing is primarily of research interest. It is conducted to investigate mast cell disorders and related conditions. Prostaglandin D2 plays various roles in the regulation of body functions including sleep and inflammation, and its increased excretion can be a marker of certain pathological processes such as mastocytosis and other disorders involving mast cell activation.
