Use
This immunohistochemical (IHC) stain cocktail targets three markers—P504S (AMACR), high molecular weight keratins (HMW KRT), and p63—used to aid in differentiating benign prostate gland basal cells from malignant prostate epithelial cells, and in distinguishing high‑grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) and prostate adenocarcinoma. The absence of basal cell staining (p63, HMW KRT) and the presence of P504S in epithelial cells supports a diagnosis of carcinoma. This test is used when pathological evaluation of small or limited prostate specimens is challenging.

Limitations
Interpretation of staining results must be conducted by a qualified pathologist in the clinical and morphological context. Technical factors such as age of paraffin section (best if cut within 6 weeks), slide charge, humidity, and storage conditions may impact staining quality. Unsuitable slides or blocks may yield inconsistent results.
