Use
Detect antibodies for P/Q type and N-type voltage-gated calcium channels. Aid in the evaluation of muscle weakness in the context of neuromuscular junction disorder with or without cancer, or the diagnosis of paraneoplastic neurological syndromes.
Special Instructions
This test is New York state approved. The test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. It is performed in a CLIA certified laboratory for clinical purposes.
Limitations
While this test helps in the evaluation of specific neuromuscular disorders and paraneoplastic syndromes, its performance characteristics have not been cleared or approved by the FDA, which may limit its usage in certain clinical contexts.
