Allergen, Food, Garlic
Also known as: GARLIC
Use
This test measures the level of IgE antibodies specific to garlic allergens. It helps in evaluating and managing patients with suspected food allergy to garlic. Results are used in conjunction with clinical history and in vivo reactivity to specific allergens to assess the likelihood of a clinical allergic reaction.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided. For multiple allergen orders, refer to 'Allergen Specimen Collection Instructions' at www.aruplab.com/testing/resources/specimen.
Limitations
Allergen results of 0.10-0.34 kU/L are intended for specialist use as the clinical relevance is undetermined. Although increasing ranges reflect increasing concentrations of allergen-specific IgE, these may not correlate with clinical response severity or skin test results. A negative test may not rule out clinical allergy or anaphylaxis. Interpretation should consider clinical history and reactivity to specific allergens.
