Use
This test is used to detect hepatobiliary dysfunction and may aid in the diagnosis of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. It is not recommended for detecting inborn errors of bile acid metabolism.
Special Instructions
Patient should fast for 8 hours prior to collection to ensure accuracy of results. Specimen must be properly prepared and stored to maintain stability and validity.
Limitations
The test is not suitable for detecting inborn errors of bile acid metabolism. Hemolyzed or body fluid specimens are unacceptable and will be rejected.
