Cadmium, Urine
Also known as: CADMIUM U
Use
Urine cadmium concentrations are used to assess cadmium body burden, especially for chronic exposures, with the kidneys as primary target organ. Symptoms of toxicity may include tubular proteinuria, fever, headache, dyspnea, chest pain, and others.
Special Instructions
For acute exposures, Cadmium, Blood (0099675) is preferred. Patients should abstain from iodine-containing medications for 1 month prior to specimen collection.
Limitations
