Cytochrome P450 Genotyping Panel, with GeneDose Access
Also known as: CYP GD
Use
This test assesses genetic risk of abnormal drug metabolism for drugs metabolized by CYP2B6, CYP2C19, CYP2C8, CYP2C9, CYP2D6, CYP3A4, and CYP3A5. It aids in drug selection and dose planning by identifying genetic variants that influence the pharmacokinetics of these drugs. The panel includes GeneDose access, providing additional pharmacogenetic information that may inform therapeutic decisions, potentially preventing therapeutic failure or adverse reactions due to genetic variants affecting enzyme function.
Special Instructions
The test includes access to the GeneDose database, which correlates genetic information with drug response. Informed consent is required for NY patients. Counseling and informed consent are recommended for genetic testing.
Limitations
Only the targeted variants are detected by this panel, and phase and content assumptions are made for allele assignment. Diagnostic errors may occur due to rare sequence variations. The test cannot distinguish between certain CYP2D6 alleles due to cross-reactivity and cannot specifically identify CYP2D6*5 deletions with duplications. Genetic and non-genetic factors not detected by this test may affect therapeutic outcomes. This test does not replace clinical monitoring or therapeutic drug monitoring.
