Heavy Metals Panel 6, Urine with Reflex to Arsenic Fractionated
Also known as: HYMET 6
Use
Useful in the assessment of acute and chronic exposure to arsenic, cadmium, copper, mercury, lead, and zinc. Urinary measurement can help monitor exposure levels and evaluate risk of toxicity. Elevated urine levels indicate exposure that may require further investigation or medical intervention.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
This test may be subject to interference by high concentrations of iodine or gadolinium. Urinary excretion may not exactly reflect exposure for all metals due to variance in individual metabolism and excretion pathways. Random specimens may not be as reliable as 24-hour collections due to potential variability in urine production and analyte concentration.
