Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis Extended Panel (Farmer's Lung Panel)
Also known as: HYPEREXT
Use
Use to evaluate patients suspected of having hypersensitivity pneumonitis induced by exposure to several allergens including Aspergillus species and pigeon serum. This test helps identify specific antibodies related to these allergens, aiding in the diagnosis and management of the condition.
Special Instructions
This panel involves testing using both qualitative immunodiffusion and quantitative ImmunoCAP fluorescent enzyme immunoassay methodologies. Interface map and further interpretative guidance are available. Analytical components include various antibodies and allergens to detect specific responses.
Limitations
Allergen results from 0.10 to 0.34 kU/L are for specialist evaluation as clinical relevance is undetermined. Results may not correlate with clinical symptoms or skin testing results. Negative outcomes do not exclude clinical allergies or anaphylaxis.
