Use
The Urea Nitrogen, Urine test provides an assessment of a patient's protein metabolism by measuring the concentration of urea nitrogen in urine. This test is useful in evaluating and monitoring patients with kidney disorders, monitoring nutritional status, and assessing nitrogen balance in patients on special diets or undergoing dialysis.
Special Instructions
Specimens must be collected properly as per instructions to ensure accuracy. Record total volume and collection time interval on the transport tube and test request form.
Limitations
The reference interval for random urine sample has not been established. Deviations in collection time or volume may necessitate interpretation adjustments with respect to urine creatinine concentrations.
