Special Instructions
Must be a timed collection. Serum must be drawn during urine collection. Separate serum from cells within 45 minutes of collection.
Limitations
The test may not reflect accurate renal function in patients with abnormal urine output or with significant muscle mass abnormalities. External factors such as diet or medications that affect renal function can also influence results. Accurate specimen collection and processing are crucial for valid results.
