Aerobic Identification and Susceptibility

Use
This test is for the identification of “routine” bacteria; for other bacterial species requiring more extensive biochemical testing, use test Reference Bacterial Culture Identification [008458] with test Susceptibility Testing, Aerobic and Facultatively Anaerobic Organisms [008680] at an additional charge.
Special Instructions
This test is specifically for the identification of routine bacteria. For bacterial species requiring more extensive biochemical testing, a different reference bacterial culture identification test should be used, which may incur additional charges. Pure isolates are required, and the identification of multiple organisms will result in additional fees.
Limitations
The test is limited to aerobic and facultatively anaerobic organisms. For other types of bacteria that require more advanced identification techniques, this test will not suffice. Mixed cultures and improperly labeled specimens are causes for rejection. Additional time may be needed for certain confirmatory tests.
