Anti-Fodrin Antibodies, IgG & IgA (RDL)
Also known as: Early Sjogren’s
Use
According to the latest findings, the routine screening for antibodies directed against alpha-fodrin can be a useful tool in diagnosing early stage Sjogren’s syndrome.
Special Instructions
Separate serum from cells within one hour of collection. Transfer to a plastic transport tube before shipping. If multiple tests are requested on frozen samples, submit separate frozen specimens for each test to avoid delays in turnaround time.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration, meaning it is a laboratory-developed test (LDT). As such, performance characteristics have been determined internally and are not approved for use outside of the confines of the lab. Interpretation should be made in the context of the full clinical picture and additional confirmatory tests may be required.
