Anti-Dense Fine Speckled 70 (DFS70) Antibody by ELISA, Serum
Also known as: DFS70 AB
Use
The Anti-Dense Fine Speckled 70 (DFS70) Antibody by ELISA measures IgG antibodies to the DFS70 antigen, also known as lens epithelium-derived growth factor (LEDGF). It is associated with positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) results in individuals without autoimmune rheumatic diseases. The presence of anti-DFS70 together with the absence of other ANA subset autoantibodies indicates a low risk for autoimmune rheumatic diseases.
Special Instructions
This test is not performed at ARUP Laboratories. Separate specimens are required if multiple tests are ordered. It is performed by a non-ARUP laboratory, specifically by the University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine. Testing can only be conducted if a Non-Permitted Laboratory Request form is approved by the New York Department of Health and received at ARUP.
Limitations
The test is not cleared or approved by the US FDA. Its results should not be regarded as investigational or for research purposes. It is intended for clinical purposes only. Interpretation of results should consider the absence of other ANA subset antibodies to indicate a low risk for autoimmune rheumatic disease.
