Autoimmune Liver Disease Profile (RDL)
Use
This profile helps differentiate between Autoimmune Hepatitis type 1 and 2.
Special Instructions
Separate serum from cells within one hour of collection. Ensure the specimen is transferred to a plastic transport tube before shipping to avoid delays in turnaround time.
Limitations
Limitations include the potential for cross-reactivity with other autoimmune conditions and the inability to detect some rare antibodies specific to autoimmune liver diseases. Additional confirmatory testing may be required in some cases to establish a definitive diagnosis.
Methodology
Immunoassay (ELISA)
