Use
This test measures total cortisol, cortisol‑binding globulin (CBG), free cortisol, and percent free cortisol—providing a comprehensive assessment of cortisol status including binding protein and free fraction which can be vital in evaluating adrenal disorders such as Cushing’s syndrome or adrenal insufficiency.
Special Instructions
Separate serum within one hour of venipuncture; transfer specimen to plastic transport tube before freezing. To avoid TAT delays when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
