Isocyanate TDI
Use
This test is designed to detect the presence of specific IgE antibodies to Isocyanate TDI, which is important for diagnosing allergic reactions to this compound. Isocyanates are commonly used in the production of polyurethane products and exposure can lead to respiratory or skin sensitization.
Special Instructions
Ensure specimen is collected in a red-top tube or gel-barrier tube and maintain stability at room temperature to avoid degradation.
Limitations
The test specifically measures IgE antibodies to Isocyanate TDI; cross-reactivity with other isocyanates is not determined. Negative results do not rule out sensitization; clinical correlation is necessary. Multiple freeze-thaw cycles may affect the stability of the serum sample and possibly lead to inaccurate results.
