Mouse Epithelium
Use
The Mouse Epithelium test detects specific IgE antibodies to mouse epithelial allergens using the Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® system. This test is intended to assist in the diagnosis of allergic responses caused by exposure to mouse allergens. Elevated levels of specific IgE can support a clinical diagnosis of allergen hypersensitivity, which is crucial for designing appropriate allergy management and avoidance strategies.
Special Instructions
Specimens should be collected in a red-top tube or gel-barrier tube. Ensure proper labeling and follow standard procedures for specimen transfer and storage to ensure sample integrity.
Limitations
This test detects specific IgE antibodies to mouse allergens but cannot quantify total IgE levels or determine the severity of the allergic response. The presence of specific IgE does not always correlate with clinical symptoms, and false positives or negatives can occur. Interference from cross-reactive proteins found in other environmental or animal allergens might lead to inaccurate interpretations.
