Parsley
Use
The Parsley test measures specific IgE levels to parsley allergens, facilitating the diagnosis and management of suspected parsley allergies. Elevated IgE levels suggest allergen sensitization, which is useful in assessing allergic reactions and guiding dietary and environmental management.
Special Instructions
Ensure specimens are collected in the recommended containers to maintain sample integrity. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles beyond the specified stability limits to prevent denaturation of IgE proteins.
Limitations
This test specifically measures IgE antibodies to parsley and should not be used as a standalone diagnostic tool. Clinical correlation is required due to the possibility of cross-reactivity with other allergens and non-IgE mediated mechanisms. False positives can occur due to technical variability or external factors unrelated to IgE levels.
