Parsley (F86) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
Measures immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies specific to parsley (Petroselinum crispum), aiding in identification of allergic sensitization. An elevated IgE level may indicate a parsley allergy and supports clinical decision-making around dietary avoidance and allergy management.
Special Instructions
Orderable as a single allergen-specific IgE antibody test under code F86. Routine venipuncture collection using SST (serum separator tube) or red‑top tube; refrigerated transport. Not available STAT; performed Monday through Friday day shift only.
Limitations
Positive IgE results alone do not confirm clinical allergy or predict severity of reaction—clinical correlation is required. Quantity‑not‑sufficient specimens may be rejected.
