Allergen, Weed, Dog Fennel IgE
Also known as: DOG FENNEL
Use
The Allergen, Weed, Dog Fennel IgE test is used for detecting the presence of allergen-specific IgE antibodies to dog fennel pollen. This helps in the diagnosis and management of allergenic conditions, providing insights into the patient's sensitization status. However, the clinical relevance of low levels (0.10-0.34 kU/L) is undetermined and requires specialist interpretation. High IgE concentrations may indicate a higher likelihood of an IgE-mediated allergic reaction, though they do not necessarily correlate with clinical symptoms, as other factors such as clinical history and in vivo reactivity need consideration.
Special Instructions
Serum should be separated from cells as soon as possible, preferably within two hours of collection. Use an ARUP Standard Transport Tube for serum transfer. For allergens testing in bulk orders, refer to the 'Allergen Specimen Collection Instructions' available on the ARUP website.
Limitations
This test's performance in terms of sensitivity and specificity has been established by ARUP Laboratories and not cleared by the FDA. It is intended for clinical purposes and performed in a CLIA certified lab. Negative results do not completely rule out clinical allergy or anaphylaxis, and allergen-specific IgE levels may not correlate with clinical responses or skin testing results.
