Phosphatidylethanol (PEth)
Also known as: Ethyl Alcohol Biomarker
Use
Measures blood levels of phosphatidylethanol, an alcohol-specific biomarker
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The test performance characteristics were determined by Labcorp but not cleared or approved by the FDA. The results should be considered in the context of additional clinical and behavioral data, as the presence of PEth alone does not conclusively indicate alcohol use behaviors. Additionally, the detection limit is set at 20 ng/mL, below which the presence of PEth cannot be reliably reported.
