Ragweed, False
Also known as: False Ragweed
Use
Identifies patient sensitization to false ragweed (a weed pollen allergen) by measuring specific IgE antibodies, aiding in diagnosis of allergic reactions such as hay fever, nasal congestion, itchy eyes, or asthma specifically triggered by false ragweed.
Special Instructions
Uses Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® methodology. Result typically available in 3–5 days. Requires serum collected in red‑top or gel‑barrier tube.
Limitations
Turnaround time may be prolonged if confirmatory or reflex testing is needed; result interpretation should consider clinical context, including possible falsely elevated IgE in individuals with very high total serum IgE due to nonspecific binding.
