SNP Microarray−Products of Conception (POC)/Tissue (Reveal®)
Also known as: Reveal® SNP Microarray−Products of Conception (POC)/Tissue
Use
This test will detect chromosomal imbalance that could be associated with developmental delay/congenital anomalies. It provides possible detection of uniparental disomy of any chromosome, the percent and location of homozygosity, including the degree of identity by descent. It will also allow the detection of complete or partial molar pregnancies.
Special Instructions
Medical findings must accompany the test request form. If formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded blocks or slides are submitted, an updated test number of Microarray-Products of Conception (POC) Reveal® FFPE [511997] will be applicable. If tissues below 8 mg are received, the sample may be run on the Oncoscan Microarray platform, and the test number will be adjusted, notifying the client accordingly. Prior reports of NIPT studies should be included if available.
Limitations
The test cannot determine genotypes from some formalin-fixed tissues, restricting analysis to genomic dosage. It does not detect balanced chromosomal rearrangements, mosaicism under 10%, or marker chromosomes comprising only heterochromatin or tetraploidy. The test is also unable to assess DNA alterations below specific copy-number thresholds (>1 Mb for deletions, >2 Mb for duplications).
