Limitations

Sequencing cannot detect variants in regions not covered by this analysis, including noncoding or deep intronic variants, and may not reliably detect changes in repetitive elements such as microsatellite repeats. It may not detect mosaic variants, inversions, or other genomic rearrangements such as transposable element insertions. Sequence analysis might also be affected by allele drop-out due to rare variants under primer sites or homopolymeric regions. Copy number variations analysis may not detect certain genomic rearrangements like translocations or some partial exon rearrangements, and pseudogenes can interfere with the detection of variants in certain genes. This test is not intended for detecting somatic variants, and bone marrow transplantation may affect results.
