Comprehensive Hereditary Cancer Panel
Also known as: Qvantage, BRCA, 34 Gene Panel, BRACA, BRCA1/2
Use
This multigene panel is used to identify individuals with a hereditary predisposition to cancer, particularly when personal or family history does not clearly indicate a specific syndrome or when smaller genetic tests are negative despite strong suspicion of inherited risk. It is applicable to individuals with personal and/or family history of multiple cancer types or negative prior targeted testing. Informed consent and genetic counseling are recommended components of test use. Limitations
This test is limited to the specified 66 genes and may not detect all hereditary cancer predisposition causes or variants outside the regions covered. It is not optimized for every cancer type, and rare or novel variants may remain unclear. False positives or negatives may occur; results should be interpreted with clinical context, history, and potentially additional testing.
