Allergen-Specific IgG – Short Ragweed
Use
This test quantifies an individual’s immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody response to short (common) ragweed. Allergen-specific serum IgG measurement may help in the assessment of sensitization to this pollen allergen. Note that a positive result indicates sensitization but does not confirm clinical allergy—diagnosis should be made in conjunction with clinical evaluation by a provider.

Limitations
Positive sensitization (elevated IgG) does not necessarily indicate a current clinical allergic reaction; many sensitized individuals may be asymptomatic. Clinical interpretation should be performed by a healthcare provider in the context of symptoms and additional evaluation.
