Beryllium Blood (BeLPT)
Use
The Beryllium Lymphocyte Proliferation Test (BeLPT), also known as Beryllium Blood test, is used to detect sensitization to beryllium by measuring lymphocyte proliferation in response to beryllium exposure. It helps identify individuals at risk for beryllium sensitization and chronic beryllium disease and is particularly relevant for occupational surveillance of workers exposed to beryllium-containing materials. It is considered the gold standard for screening workers with potential exposure to beryllium dust or fumes.
