Clinical Use
Order TestUse
Panel currently includes testing against A‑2, A‑4, A‑7, A‑9, A‑10, and A‑16 antigens. Although cross‑reactivity among enteroviruses occurs by complement fixation (CF), most healthy individuals lack titers greater than 1:8. Detectable titers, especially those above 1:32, are considered diagnostic. Confirmed serodiagnosis is based on demonstration of a four‑fold change in titers between acute and convalescent sera.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Culture generally does not support growth of Coxsackie A viruses.
