Monitoring eslicarbazepine (monohydroxyoxcarbazepine, MHD) serum or plasma levels helps clinicians avoid toxicity and provides a baseline for therapeutic drug monitoring. Individual concentrations should be interpreted in the context of clinical condition, treatment history, and prior levels. Therapeutic range is generally 3–35 µg/mL; toxic levels are above 40 µg/mL.
