HLA‑B Low Resolution
Use
HLA‑B low resolution typing is used to determine broad HLA‑B antigen groups, commonly for transplant compatibility screening or matching donor/recipient HLA‑B loci.
Special Instructions
Samples such as cord blood, bone marrow, or peripheral blood leukocytes require consultation with the performing lab (Versiti Wisconsin) for collection, transport, and stability instructions.
Limitations
Low resolution typing may not resolve allelic ambiguities and provides only broad antigen-level information. Additional high-resolution typing may be required for definitive matching. Certain specimen types (e.g., frozen or heparinized/citrated tubes) are not acceptable.
