Anti‑Ma and anti‑Ta antibodies can be detected in patients with a wide range of paraneoplastic neurological syndromes including acute or subacute onset of symptoms of limbic encephalitis, brainstem encephalitis, cerebellar degeneration, or polyneuropathy. This semi‑quantitative assay may be useful in monitoring therapeutic responses in select cases.
