Allergen, Food, Summer Squash IgE
Also known as: SQUASH SUM
Use
The Allergen, Food, Summer Squash IgE test measures the specific IgE antibody levels in the patient's serum to help evaluate the presence of an allergic reaction to summer squash. This evaluation aids in diagnosing and managing food allergies, providing essential information for patients who suspect they have a food allergy or are exhibiting symptoms of an allergic reaction after consuming this food.
Special Instructions
Please ensure to review the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions to guarantee adequate volume for allergen testing. The test is not performed at ARUP, and separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Transport tubes and adequate sample volume are essential for accurate assessment.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Eurofins Viracor. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Hemolyzed, icteric, or lipemic specimens can lead to erroneous results and are therefore rejected. The serum sample needs to be separated from cells as soon as possible or within two hours of collection to maintain sample integrity.
