Allergen, Food, Walnut IgG
Also known as: WALNUT IGG
Use
The Allergen, Food, Walnut IgG test is used for the quantitative measurement of allergen-specific IgG antibodies against walnut in human serum. It provides information that may help in assessing exposure to walnut allergens and can aid in the diagnosis of food-related allergic responses. This assay is useful for clinicians in identifying patients who may have an allergic reaction to walnut based on specific IgG levels.
Special Instructions
Ensure serum is separated from cells as soon as possible or within 2 hours of collection. Transport the specimen in 0.5 mL volume using the ARUP standard transport tube. Follow the allergen specimen collection instructions for proper specimen handling.
Limitations
This test measures allergen-specific IgG antibodies and does not directly diagnose an allergic condition by itself. IgG antibody levels may not correlate directly with clinical symptoms. The test results should not be used as the sole criteria for assessing allergic disease but should be interpreted in conjunction with other clinical findings.
