Allergens, Food, Meat Panel IgG
Also known as: IGG MEATS
Use
The Allergens, Food, Meat Panel IgG is used to evaluate levels of IgG antibodies specific to common meat allergens such as pork, chicken, and beef. This test aids in identifying potential allergen-specific IgG, which might be involved in delayed allergic reactions or food sensitivity reactions to meats.
Special Instructions
This test is not New York state approved. Samples should not be submitted to ARUP Laboratories from New York. Ensure serum is separated from cells within 2 hours of collection and transferred to a transport tube.
Limitations
This test does not diagnose allergies or specific food sensitivities with immediate clinical relevance. IgG testing for food sensitivities should not be used as the sole diagnostic criterion for food allergies. Results are to be used in conjunction with clinical evaluation and other diagnostic procedures.
