H3.3 G34W Mutant by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: H3G34W IHC
Use
The H3.3 G34W Mutant by Immunohistochemistry test is designed to detect the presence of the H3.3 G34W mutation, which is associated with certain types of tumors. This mutation occurs in the histone H3.3 protein and is considered a biomarker for specific tumor types. Identification of this mutation may aid in the diagnosis and classification of these tumors, providing valuable information for clinical decision-making and patient management.
Special Instructions
Submit an electronic request through ARUP systems. If electronic ordering is unavailable, use the ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) with an ARUP client number. For further technical details, contact ARUP Client Services. It is highly recommended to use ARUP's Tissue Transport Kit (ARUP supply #47808) for sample submission.
Limitations
This test is performed as a technical service only, meaning that it serves as a stain and return service. The test has been developed and performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories, but it has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. As such, results should be interpreted by a qualified healthcare professional within the broader context of the patient's clinical situation.
